Scroll downWe found this abacus at an antique market, although these are not widely used back here in Australia, we love how prolific these still are throughout Japan. There have been many times we have bought bits and pieces and the shop owner tallies up pricing with an abacus. Whether you want to use it or just keep it decorative, these are always cool pieces to have in the home.

Story
This was one of our longest sourcing trips, and also one of the hottest. It was peak summer while we were over there which meant we had to head to the markets early before the peak heat of the middle of the day. Albeit hot (and a little sweaty) we found so many great pieces on our travels through Osaka, Kyoto, Mashiko and Tokyo.
