Handcrafted in a small ceramic workshop in Tajimi, Japan, the softly textured white glaze, raw base and single hand-painted blue brush stroke give each vessel a quiet, understated beauty. Each candle is hand-poured in Sydney, and designed to become part of your home long after the final burn.

Each Gifu vessel is made in a small family-run ceramic workshop in Tajimi, a city renowned for producing Mino ware for more than 1,300 years. Working with small workshops allows us to celebrate traditional craftsmanship while supporting makers who continue these techniques today. The Gifu candle also has a matching Gifu bowl with the same distinct glazing details to complete your set.
Ingredients & Craft
Our studio is located in Surry Hills, Sydney, where we pour each and every one of our candles by hand in small batches. We use pure soy wax and boutique natural fragrances to craft our candles.
Every Provider candle is created with a second life in mind, so it is more than just a single use candle. Once you've enjoyed the final burn, simply remove the wick, wash the vessel with warm soapy water and continue using it as a Japanese tea cup, coffee cup or small planter. If you're nearby, bring it back to our Surry Hills store and we'll refill it with your favourite Provider fragrance. We think candles should be burnt and enjoyed every day and not just saved for special occasions, so burn it, refill it or reuse it.
