At Somali craftsmen still manufacture soap by hand using the "kettle firing" method. The degree of saponification varies slightly depending on various conditions, such as the type of oil, yearly climate, temperature, and humidity. That is why their craftsmen use their full senses of sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell. 

While this manufacturing method takes a lot of time and effort, Somali refuse to do it any other way, to ensure the quality of their products are always at the highest level.
